Artist History
ERTHER comes bubbling up like black blood through cracked mud..washing away the dust of years from this place. ERTHER has been into music for 20 years and making music for 16 years..starting with a synthesizer and a tape deck and listening to Kraftwerk, Numan, Foxx, early Ultravox and Human League etc..moving onto guitar and a 4 track and started listening to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd etc then found James Brown and Miles Davis..playing everything from Blues, Jazz and Funk to DeathMetal but a combination of the want for clear personal artistic visions and finding revived interest in electronic music upon hearing Goldie's "Inner City Life" then lots of old skool DnB resulted in a major shift back to solo electronic endeavours. Now doing Hard edged D n' B and breaks with a slant towards the bad technology that creates itself. |

Press Reviews
ERTHER review: "an impressive solo project from australia whose experience and skill in electronica is clearly evident in the music. you'd do well to hear the tunes, most highly recommended." - Raw42 (http://www.ward42.com/raw/reviews/erther.html)Track reviews: "*mothertech* is one of those spacey tunes that seems almost ambient in nature although it's drum 'n bass with killer beats. the addition of dark styled vocals add a menacing tone to this track about technology as a virus that kills life. it's a little freaky but that's the intent and erther have accomplished exactly what they set out to do, create ominous atmosphere music. spooky but cool." - Raw42 (http://www.ward42.com/raw/reviews/erther.html)"*HIFI trip to da moon* features more of those killer beats in this jump-up track and the hardcore techno effects add much spice to this above average piece of electronica. what's best is the structure of this music, it's all over the place but still entirely coherent and organized. a nice touch of experience which shines through in this australian artist's tracks. in fact, we've added this one to our top MP3 songs list for it's excess of coolness in electronic sound." - Raw42 (http://www.ward42.com/raw/reviews/erther.html)"*erthforce* has a funky feel and builds to an excellent level of movement music. i doubt this song was created for the club crowd but it has the beat and with the funky groove, it's danceable. but it's also harsh in sound and that's what's especially good about this tune. it gives it a mysterious, dark edge that the dancing masses wouldn't know what to do with. nice." - Raw42 (http://www.ward42.com/raw/reviews/erther.html) |
