Artist History deasiL is a rocktrio that plays driven, sometimes dissonant guitar rock. They do so since spring 1998, played live 2 or 3 times a month over the last year (Winston, de Kade, Vera and many others) as well as playing a support-act for Nada Surf in the Melkweg. deasiL is: Martijn Groen - Guitar, vocals + Joris van Caspel - Bass, vocals + Diederik Janson - Drums (He replaced Barbara Koedooder, who decided to leave deasiL in august 1999) All band members played in other bands for several years. Martijn played in: Pushing up the daisies and Bat Guano Joris played in: De van Poolen Band, Mayze and Bat Guano Diederik played in: Mayze They recorded 3 CD's: 1998 Ponk 1999 Oh! Wendy 2000 Big Screen Action Hero All three were recorded & produced by Frank Reijgersberg (o.a. Nuffsaid, Benjamin B, I against I)and deasiL. We love playing live and do it well!

Press Reviews deasiL MP3 reviews reviewed by sal march 1999 To be seen at Raw42: http://www.ward42.com/raw/reviews/deasil.html more ultimate coolness from the netherlands. i don't know what it is about this tiny country but they sure produce some interesting and talented bands. must be all that pot. deasiL strikes a heavy chord with their alternative punkish madness, distorted vocals and broad ability to write incredibly catchy songs. but what makes them a little different from most are the punk overtones finely weaved into the heavy alternative so you're not sure where to place them in this overly categorized musical world. similar to many of the heavier radio bandsin north america, this dutch group craft comparable commercial heavy rock which you'd find on many a college campus (the offspring jumps to mind). a sure sign of good things to come for deasiL. i can see why the highly regarded club, melkweg in amsterdam would invite them to play. chalk up another musical score for the netherlands - deasiL have got a good thing going on.contact infodeasiL website :www.chaos68.demon.nlchaos68@bigfoot.com
