Artist History
Bassist, Steve Zimmerman was an original member of the "Drop Nineteens,"
a band signed to Caroline Records (Smashing Pumpkins,
Hole) which achieved cult pop status earlier in the 90's,
especially as darlings of the usually incriminating English press,
and across America with college radio. Drummer and main lyricist
Tony Wilson, lead the band "Public Works" to college radio singles
notoriety during an American tour with "The Wonder Stuff," shortly
before quitting to form "Bake McBride" with Steve Zimmerman. Jay Kim, Rhandy Rhoades, Slash and Radiohead influenced guitarist extraordinaire
joined the mix to complete the line-up.
The band introduced its first ep this winter, to much
acclaim from the alternative college stations as the "next big
thing" in Boston. |

Press Reviews
"In a time of pre-packaged angst and re-packaged
dinosaurs, Bake McBride is the "ear" freshener,
you've been waiting for..." ----The Boston Noise
LIVE REVIEW:
"Put to the test against other local faves, Bake
McBride are sexier, sexier, sexier, and most importantly,
Bake McBride just SOUNDS BETTER..." ----Stuff @ Night Magazine
This is one impressive disk, folks. Just the pure, clean sound
of a serious band who knows how to make great songs without
resorting to sampled beats and snippets from history to make
their own history... ----The NOISE |
