    Artist description
Andrey Vinogradov is a Russian composer and musician with a head full of romance. Robust, orchestral, and slick, his modern folk music, inflected by jazz and rock, is an avant-garde collection of instrumental journeys through the Russian Silver Age of modernist poetry. An accomplished composer and pianist, Vinogradov demonstrates his remarkable ability to fuse the chamber lyrical mood of Russian romance with the rhythms of jazz and rock and the intonations of folklore.

    Artist History
Born in 1959 in Moscow, Vinogradov has studied and been exposed to a variety of musical genres, everything from classical jazz to jazz-rock. He has now settled down in folky niche, where he creates his classic but unique blend of sounds. He graduated with highest honors from the Moscow Gnessin Music College and completed his education at Gnessin Academy of Music. Later, as part of well-known Russian jazz-rock group The Arsenal, directed by revered saxophonist Alexei Kozlov, he recorded two LPs, The Second Wind and Pulse 3, which were later released on the CDs Time-scorched - III and Time-scorched - IV (1997-1998). Ever since his youth, Vinogradov’s goal has been to create innovative unions between the most diverse of musical genres by combining elements of classical, jazz and folk music. In 1996 he composed a series of songs to the verses of Russian modernist poets Soloviov, Blok, Voloshin, and Akhmatova among others. The result was a CD entitled Dryad's Songs featuring the vocals of Galina Lipina.

    Press Reviews
Russian artist Vinogradov may live in Moscow but his heart resides Music Heaven. His music is difficult to label but far from difficult to enjoy. Mixing Jazz, Rock, Pop and Russian Folk influences the result is something remarkably fresh and entertaining. I’d suggest starting with my favorite work by this remarkable artist:“Again White Campanulas”. You’ll be easily captivated by the one of the most lovely young female voices that you will have every heard. Composer Vinogradov both plays various instruments on his compositions and also brings in wonderfully talented musicians to sometimes take the starring role in his elaborate episodes of music magic. “Pearl-Divers” is another gem that invokes the sweet sound of a placid sea. Each of Vinogradov’s instrumentals and songs, with the latter sung in his native Russian by one of his female collaborators, amount to some of the best World music produced in recent times.
