Artist History First I 'd like to say that I have not intended to write a biography rather than a story,only anhumble comment of a constantly progressive work.All started when he recorded the"Glints in The Waters O'Mars"demo tape in 1995, he was 17 and fresh out of playingwith bad schoolbands .He decided 2 Leave the bands(hewas performing as a lead singer.) because he felt the need tobe free to experiment everything and follow is own wayalone.He challenged himself to know how far he could goand started learning Guitar&Bass to be able to record asong without the need of a band (he was already playingkeyboards and a few guitar).That is in the middle of thisyear that he recorded Glints in The Waters O' Mars a demotape with 12 songs that marked a turning point in Aji'smusic.For the first time he recorded the all album aloneplaying all the instruments from the beginning to the end,the result was quite good for a teenager and it augured thefabulous crossover of Groove that will be coming next if hekeep on working this way... .And that's what he did during both 1996 & 1997,experimenting sounds ,refining the way he plays & creating his own style .By the way he revisited roots music to complete is knowledge ,NeO FunK was about to born .. 1998 He Got is Style ready and start compiling his work.At the same time he has created as a producer his own Label NeO FunK recordz in order of course to produce is work but also to prepare future products with other artists. EmbryO First intended as a Best-of Compilation in order to have his work promoted & distributed by a Major Record company the project turned into an amazing patchwork of music, approximately 200 tracks has been added to the original already wide pool of music. The baby is called EmbryO and it is the biggest amount of music I have personally ever heard from a single artist! an artist who knows what hard work really means ,from day 1 he start dancing and make people dance along and he will probably never stop. If we go a little bit deeper there is an hidden cultural message that forecast the coming of a growing cultural movement.I can't enlarge on Ali James 's poetry but the lyrics talks about ups and downs caused by Life in general ,Love ,Sex ,hate, about being free etc...and are relevant of a man who is searching for unity by multiplicity, of an hybrid of culture ,the some total of his musical ancestors,a man trying to connect the Truth by changing the rules. We are all at the end of a Millennium,searching for community and answers to fundamental and metaphysical questions ,wandering what tomorrow will looks like. Aji is one of those genius who think they can change the World,idealist?surely,but he is trying , searching and searching again,like a scientist or a philosopher he will never find but he will be more closer and his work like every good artistic work will transmit informations capable of inciting a reflection about the Life sense and uplifting souls.
