    Artist description
You are traveling down a dark road, at least 70 miles from the nearest town. Sinister appearing leafless trees loom on both sides of the narrow path. The skies threaten snow, and it is cold enough to freeze spit before it hits the ground."This would be a lousy place to run out of gas," you say to your girlfriend who is half-dozing in the passenger seat."Huh?" she replies, barely opening her eyes to acknowledge your existence.Just then, your car, which has always been a piece of crap, decides to start sputtering. "Oh no, what is wrong now!"Coasting to a stop on the gravely shoulder of the road, you can't begin to know what is wrong with the vehicle. Nowadays you need a degree in quantum physics just to change the oil. Luckily, you have a mobile phone, one of those new digital kinds guaranteed to have "a crystal clear sound." Wrong. The stupid thing won't pick up a signal this far from civilization. You get back into the car, glad for what little heat remains."What's wrong?" she asks."Dunno. Maybe if we let it sit for a bit it will start back up."Despite repeated attempts to start the car over the next hour, it refuses to budge. Neither of you have eaten since lunch, over eight hours earlier. It's cold and dark as the first massive snowflakes begin to cover the car. "I'm starving," she says. "Isn't there anything in here to eat at all?""I've got some Certs. Retsyn is good for your breath.""I'm not worried about stinky breath," she says. "I just wanna eat."Stomachs gurgling from hunger, you both huddle inside the vehicle, listening to the car stereo with what little power is left in the battery. You fall asleep listening to strains of evil sounding guitars and dark, gothic vocals. Eventually, the power dies as you are lost in dreams of Denny's Grand Slam Breakfast and Motel 6. The next morning, the sun's weak rays are unable to penetrate the more than 30 inches of heavy snow covering the vehicle. You push and push, but are unable to open the car doors. Sealed within a 2000 pound coffin, the air begins to get stale fairly soon. The temperature is livable, but you know that without food and water, you won't last long. You look at your girlfriend and remember what she looks like naked. Her fleshy thighs might just get you through to the first thaw. No, you reconsider. I guess I'd better stay hungry.(Doug C. www.amp3review.com)

    Press Reviews
If it is humanly possible to capture the Top Forty-esque beats of 311, the surroundings of Michael Jackson's Thriller video, late Pearl Jam's hollow tin echoes, and Neil Diamond's frenzied excitement of We’re Coming to America, all dosed with a futuristic tone reminiscent of Coldcut, Stay Hungry has done it. Yeah it sounds insane, but he has reached a different kind of high on A New Low. Starting mellow, finishing mellow, the chaos in between is careful, creepy and will make you listen more than a few times. It's like a scene to a movie where the road is dark and damp and you think maybe you want to drive off the cliff, but you look, and decide to go back. Because you know there is something left to do, somewhere. I have yet to listen to the other Stay Hungry cuts available on his site, but with A New Low, all my senses reached a new high. Definitely recommended. (From www.mp3reviews.com)
