Artist description
Beginning his producing career in 1999 when he was just 14, Chris de Almeida has already begun making a name for himself. With his 4th CD recently out and college radio airplay around the country, Chris is steadily becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Hailing from north Chicago, Chris's live P.A. set devastates the floor and offers something for everybody, covering trance, drum&bass, techno, and down tempo. With a preoccupation for a dark sound (taken from his appreciation of industrial electronic music), some of Chris's tracks can be a little spooky at times.
Armed with a mouse and keyboard, Chris started with computer-based production. Two albums later, he discovered the joy, satisfaction, and most of all, superiority of external hardware. Knobs, buttons, dials, and LCD displays is apparently where it's at.
Most significantly of all is Chris's broad musical range. His first album consisted primarily of experimental electronic tracks mixed in with some trance. Later now, his fourth album "Talking" covers a range of electronic genres from Drum&Bass to Techno, to Hard Trance and even to Down Tempo. Always original, always refusing to commit to one genre, and always eluding the phrase "he sounds like...(insert popular electronic producer here)", Chris has set out to show people his music and not just what they already like or expect. |

Press Reviews
"Chris's originality bursts out in his new album "Talking". The CD kicks off nicely with a classical turned drum&bass track "Elusion", and eventually progresses into the ever-thumping hard trance "In the Hall of the Mountain King". With mellow grooves like "Talking" inbetween that make you wanna chill out with a cold one, this album is awesome for all occasions. This is a must have for any electronic music fan that is tired of the same old stuff and is looking for a little originality. And with track genres varying from drum&bass to hard trance, to techno and even down tempo, there's something for everyone on this." -Amazon.com review |
