Artist History
Marvin Tate's D-Settlement was hatched Sept. 1993, while the current lineup has now been together since 1997. Marvin has been a prolific and beloved member of the Chicago and New York poetry scenes for over a decade. |

Group Members
Marvin Tate is the Storyteller; Renee Ruffin, Adam Conway and Tina Howell provide the Greek Chorus. Olin Langley's bass and Virus X's drums provide the thunder and George Blaise's Lead Guitar - the lightning. Debi Winston and George Jones' percussion and CJ Bani's keys paint the picture. Steve Emmerman's cello adds to the strange and beautiful.*Special thanks to David Hilliard who provided the all of the drums on The Minstrel Show, aside from "Black Girl-Live at the Hothouse". And also to Cary Brown for guitar on "N-Word" and "Have You Ever Seen", and to Jahson McDaniel for percussion/melodica. |
