Artist History
Will Hammond grew up in San Francisco and Oakland, California finding it difficult to "blend in" at times. "I was always listenin to soul music but I grew up with folk and rock as well. Kids in Oakland would laugh if they heard U2 or the Police playin in the house, and the white kids would tease me at school for bumpin Prince or hip-hop". During high school, Will started to perform in different bands ranging from funk to ska to reggae, opening for groups like Fishbone, the Untouchables and Primus. In 1991 he scored a gold record while working in S.F. and L.A. only remarking "I wanna forget that experience and create my own silver...." |
