Artist History
Hailing from Denver, Colorado, CAUSTIC SOUL is a powerful hybrid of sinister industrial, shrieking metal, and meloncholy gothic. Their latest release, 'Torrent', spans genres rangingfrom pop goth to power ballad. Without a doubt, the most dynamic force the band has to offer, however, is the live performance. The pain behind every crunch, melody, and lyric is so clearly apparent that entire crowds have wept, screamed, and danced in the atmosphere of remorse this group brings with them. Be it a wailing guitar solo, or a full orchestra, members Mike "shade", Dave and Judas pour every ounce of their being into connecting with both crowd and music. Despite their heartfelt vocals and reverberating sorrow, Caustic Soul can keepthe crowd moving on an emotional rollercoaster for the entire duration of the show. Laughing oneminute, crying the next, the power of the presentation is unforgettable. As a band, these three "good ol' boys" of goth are as diverse and flexible as their music. From donning cowboy hats and Springsteen covers, to kilts and bleary-eyed moodiness, Caustic Soul keeps earning one rave review after another. |

Press Reviews
"..Caustic Soul is one of those unique groups that is able to cover a range of very goth to industrial/experimental and make it all fit on one disc." -Todd A. Mayville AKA DJ D'Arcangel(The Haven, Empire, Purgatory, and Necrology)"..with music so dreamy and vocals of velvet. I could listen to this forever and pray that it wouldn't end.."-Christiane(House of Three Ravens)"..Mike Atchley's seductive, rich vocals backed by haunting music. It's just the two guys, but the sound is full, nothing lacking. A couple men start dancing, swaying to the bumping rhythms, sensual melody. The songs are crafted so that they invade your skin, altering your pulse. Samples add to the effect, stirring dark visuals, enticing you to allow the music deeper access. Easily one of the most sexual voices I've heard in a long time, this is music for which you turn out all the lights, scatter candles throughout the bathroom, drink wine, and lose yourself in rapture. Creating ear candy, the smooth music, and subtle rhythms overcome the small discomfort caused by the tinny drum effects. Room to grow, sure, but how can they go wrong when they have so much already going for them?. Not much of stage activity, but the music makes you just want to close your eyes and succumb to their world. I could suggest some touchups in the songs here and there being called for, a protracted deviance in a song or two. And some men may not get the ….appeal of the vocals, but if you're looking to…let's say, soften up your date for the evening, I recommend letting her bask in Mike's vocals for a spell. A soft, romantic styled piece is a highlight. Another feature song spotlights the guitar more, which has seemed neglected for much of the set, and it's also a more upbeat piece, demonstrating rock roots." Catalina-Denvermusicplus.com |
