Artist description Carl Cartee travels around the country doing concerts and leading worship for various groups and events. His mission is to see the individual person and the church as a whole come closer to an intimate relationship with the Savior through authentic worship.  Carl was born in Anchorage, Alaska to a musical family who helped early on foster his love for music and Christ. He was the church pianist at the age of twelve and continued to learn other musical instruments like guitar, bass, banjo and drums. Carl continued contributing to the musical program of his church until leaving for college in 1991.Carl went to college at Gardner-Webb University. He majored in music and began working toward a career in the ministry. Soon after arriving at school, he was employed as the Worship Minister at Christ Covenant Church in Shelby,NC. Carl still attends church there and is under the leadership of the elders of the church.After three years of work at Christ Covenant and travelling with tours in the summer, the call came to begin full-time Christian music ministry.Now Carl has been blessed of the Lord to sing and minister all over the US. His song writing and recording have been well recieved by reviews everywhere. Carl's concerts are marked with passion and intensity that flow from the deeply personal music he writes. Drawing guitar influences from almost every genre from bluegrass to jazz, Carl has patched together a guitar style that dazzles listeners everuwhere he goes. Carl has shared the stage with many popular artists and has been host to audiences everywhere at his own concerts. USA Today, The New York Times and Billboard Magazine agree....All three have never heard Carl's music.Carl is married to Heather Lookadoo Cartee, whom he met at college. Heather works as the coordinator and administrator for Carl Cartee Music Ministries. The cartees have no kids, and one dog named Speck.
