Artist History Big Mentals grew up around 32nd Street in Louisville KY with his Family. At the time the family was going threw some harsh time in the hood. Mental, draws his creative force from this secion of his life. "4 My Peeps" if a detication to his family for there support threw the years. He began his music career singing in a church group with his sisters on Sundays before ther father would Preach the sermon. Big Mentals uses all of his history in his rhymes, and he has inspiration from his very special fan, long time family friend the Great Mahomad Ali. He uses some of the stick & move tactic from Ali in tracks like Fake Niggaz and Battle Cry. " I Feel like I was sent here to Crush MC's, Haters, and all fake niggaz in my way"Mental move on from the Chior on to the rough streets of "West End" where he was placed on the lyrical battle groung early in life battling older kids in the park. These were not serous times so the wars were kept on the mic untill one person thought Mentals was not tough enough and took the battle to the fist. This enent was the concept be hind Battle Cry and has been Big Mentals daily affermation to kick & claw his way to the top.In the summer of 1999 Mentals was with the High Style Brood when he met Chyl Da Most Hated . Chyl had just started Chyl, Inc and agreed to get Big Mentals recored and out for people to listen to. After the High Style Brood fell apart Mentals went in to the studio with Chyl and they came up with "Fake Niggaz" , "Battle Cry", "Lil Something 2 Ride 2" and put up http://bigmentals.8m.com so the people could find out about the "Derby City Skills" cd.
