Artist description
Among the world's outstanding violinists is Aaron Rosand, whose fine art has thrilled audiences and critics alike. ~~~Rosand's many recordings, which have received critical acclaim, include the complete Beethoven, Brahms and Bach sonatas, numerous concertos, and 19th-century Romantic masterpieces. In our times, when there is difficulty distinguishing between artist's interpretations, Aaron Rosand sounds radical and revelatory. ~~~In addition to covering a good deal of the standard concerto and sonata repertory, Rosand has explored material from the Romantic era-concertos by Joachim, Ernst, Arensky, Hubay-and made the premiere recording of Sibelius's unaccountably neglected Humoresques for violin and orchestra. ~~~Mr. Rosand's 1999 releases of the Beethoven/Brahms concertos and the Arensky/Tchaikovsky/Mendelssohn concertos have received resounding critical acclaim. Look for a new recording of the Sibelius and Khachaturian concerti in mid-2000. |
