Artist History Formed in 1998 as a songwriting project, brother and sister Jonny Coz and Lauren Beachak found a gem in the rough. Two CDs later they are poised to jump to the next level and break national. The sound is guitar driven, dynamic with enough twists and turns to give you whiplash, involving strange, tortured song characters, and blanketed by the gorgeous voice of lead vocalist Lauren. The band will be showcased at the highly publicized 2000 Music and Internet Expo In New York City in March 2000. Lauren Beachak caught the singing bug at birth, from school plays to the studio - and now finally, with this incredible band. Writing has been a constant, and the ideas keep flowing. Each song is better than the last. This Westchester girl will not stop until Wake Up Jonny is on the charts. Jonny Coz, the bassist, together with his sister Lauren, is a songwriting phenomenon, and the two have a definite synchronicity. Jonny has been in bands since his teens and also plays keyboards, guitar and vocals, in addition to his piercing bass. He remains a slave to the studio, accomplishing jingles and parodies including the award-winning "Two Live Jews". Wake Up Jonny promises to be his most successful project. Gary Brokaw is the crazed/talented guitarist who is a master of disguise, and during his career has opened for some of the best (including Johnny Winter, The Outlaws, and The Radiators) playing in bands Nuthin' Fancy, Poison Whisky, & Cylinder. He writes and records in his home-studio. Don't be surprised if you see him perform with a cordless drill, a violin bow, and imported beer bottles (or other toys) --- and watch out for flying Guitars!!! Playing drums since age 5, John Yarusso is a drummer par excellence as well as an accomplished song writer & guitarist. Though just joining the band last Fall, John had been part of the Cylinder trio with both Coz & Gary B from 1996-1998. Earlier in their career, John & Coz were part of the band Crisis - - but even before that our man was crashing cymbals at the home of childhood buds Coz & Lauren right next door.
