Artist description
STEAL DAWN was formed in the fall of 1991. From the beginning, the group has concentrated on writing the best, hard hitting, guitar oriented, original rock and roll. Their early material emphasized melodic styles of writing with a distinct '80's flair. Today, with close to 60 original songs written, STEAL DAWN'S music has become even more cutting edge, without compromising great vocals and hook-oriented songs. This, as well as word of mouth, has helped to build a loyal fan base that is second to none. |

Artist History
STEAL DAWN has focused on performing all over San Diego, before branching out. They have played such running events as: The Union Tribune's "Dr. Seuss Race For Literacy", the Suzuki Rock & Roll Marathon (one of only a few bands to play more than one location that day), the "Light The Night Race Against Crime", and the San Diego Marathon. In November 1998, STEAL DAWN played the first of many shows in the Dream Catcher Showroom at Viejas Casino! Even Qualcomm Stadium and the San Diego Padres have hosted the band as they performed for the fans during the season, playoffs and even the 1998 World Series. But baseball was not the only sport to have the band perform live. They also played after San Diego Gulls hockey games at the San Diego Sports Arena Club. They have also performed events for local radio stations like 101.5 KGB's "Million Man Loaf", and two SETS 102 FM promotional shows. They were interviewed and performed live on the air for Q106.5 FM, as well as recently performing live on the air for 101KGB’s Valentine’s Day Live Show at 4th and B. Since 1995, the group has consisted of Robert Adams (Lead and backing vocals, lead and rhythm guitars and keyboards), Andrew Frangos (Lead and rhythm guitars, and backing vocals), and Jerry Schoen (Drums and percussion, backing and lead vocals). In February 2002, they added the bass playing and vocal talents of Phil Varela (a long time friend and fellow musician of Jerry Schoen's). Their music list consists of original songs written by various members of the group. Many versions have also been played acoustically for private parties, outdoor events and showcases. The band performed 19 shows in 1997, over 40 times in 1998, 55 shows in 1999, over 65 shows in 2000, and over 75 shows in 2001. Currently, they have over 100 shows set up for 2002, so obviously, they are becoming more and more popular as word speads! That's also incredible considering all four members still have full time jobs. Their first album entitled "Til The End Of Time" debuted in November of 1996. Several tracks off their current CD are listed on MP3.com, as well as being listed on the Universal Band Listing Website (UBL.com). Several European magazines have also listed favorable reviews of their debut album. Now, with more music than they can use, they have plans to begin recording their next CD in the summer of 2002. |
