Artist History
Born in Montgomery Alabama. Sperie Koda took up guitar at the age of 11. In his late teens, he began studying composition and keyboards with Harold Rohlig, a post WWII german immigrant who is a well know composer of organ and choral music. Mr. Rohlig's genius in improvising highly structured forms such as fugues was a tremendous influence.Years of exposure to such players as Jimi Hendrix and other psychodelic players also influenced Sperie Koda who later attended Univ. of Georgia studying classic guitar with John Sutherland and 20th century composition techniques with Roger Vogel. Sperie Koda currently lives in Marietta Georgia, just outside Atlanta. |
