Artist History
I've been making music for about 8-9 years now and at first I started out with my Amiga 500 and soundtracker. I then went on to investing in a PC and got hold of the fantastic tracker program FastTracker. As I started off programming in the early 90's I soon tried to make my first Technotronic-ripoff. However after a while I got into what was then called breakbeat. Around 1993-1994 I started programming jungle which developed into Drum'n'Bass. With funding from summerjobs and some of my music, I bought myself the small studio setup mentioned below. At present I am programming any form of electronic music I find appropriate for my ideas and as mentioned above I find any style very interesting. This is (at least to my mind)because each genre can be fused into another creating new possebilities. I have worked a bit for television and this has given me new perspectives when it comes to making music this has both helped the creative process and has made me more open to any musical genre. |

Press Reviews
Review by S W Southworth at the Liverpool Hoopla website:"Sonic Landscapes is Sturle Strauss Lisaeth who is by his own admission 'another one man' operation producing dance music but don't let that put you off. Whilst the Internet is full of tracks by spotty teenagers who spent 20 on Top of The Pops Mix Factory for their PC and insist on uploading their efforts for the whole world to cringe at Sonic Landscapes tracks are different. They are funky, catchy, well produced and bursting with trancey goodness. Trust me, listen carefully and you'll hear your modem positively purr whilst you download them.'B There 4 U' is a melodic trance stormer, full of riffs, counter melodies, forever changing, it builds, it breaks down, it feels huge played just through your PC speakers, I can only image what it would sound like with some serious amplification.'Dream' is another piano led trance monster. It sounds like Eric Morecambe playing the piano riff to Dario G's 'Sunchyme' all the right notes, not necessarily in the right order. It's incredibly catchy, uplifting and has the word ANTHEM printed in bloody big red letters all over it.Go get them all now, you'll be so glad you did." http://members.xoom.com/poolhoopla/reviews99take2/reviews/mp3/soniclandscapes.html |
