Artist History
Johnny Childe's early years growing up in Missouri revolved around music. He played coronet in school and soon took up drums and guitar. He attended the Charlie Parker Institute in Kansas City where he studied Jazz guitar, he attended Southwestern Missouri State University, in Springfield Missouri, where he studied classical guitar, and studied guitar at the MI in Hollywood where he decided to stay and pursue his career. For the past 3 years, Johnny was playing in a band called Mamma's Freaks. He played all the top clubs in Hollywood and throughout the United States. He was signed to Justified Records in 1997. Johnny then decided to leave Mamma's Freaks to go solo to lead his own band joining RockettRecords with his first album. Johnny is currently playing the clubs with his 5-piece band. |

Press Reviews
Childe and his band serve up an easily accessible stew of modern rock and, if you catch his lyrics, nature-oriented spirituality. Vocals sound like Marc Bolan of T-Rex, particularly during his quieter, balladeering moments. Review by Listen.com |
