Artist description
blueScreen is a four-piece band that has been creating dynamic atmospheric rock since 1997. Having released two e.p.s, “Carnival” (2000) and “blueScreen” (2001), the band connected with producer
Rob Sanzo (Sianspheric, Treble Charger, Rhea’s Obsession) in 2001-2002 to produce its first full-length recording, “In Between Worlds”. The CD was released in May 2002. The result is a collection of 10 songs that are the culmination of five years of magic and chemistry. Initial reviews of “In Between Worlds” have been very positive.
David Bradfield's echo-laden guitar, Rob Lambke's (ex- An April March) full-bodied bass, David Capannelli's dynamic rhythms and
Delphine Roussel's sweet vocal stylings combine to create this
band's beautiful soundscapes.
"Blue", one of the band's most popular songs, was featured on a CD compilation distributed in 2000 by Losing Today, an international music magazine published in Europe. The magazine wrote, "'Blue' is definitely a fantastic piece that will become one of the songs you listen to every day." This exposure drove the band to the top of MP3.com's "Shoegazer" charts with “AM” off the blueScreen e.p. debuting at the #3 position on the charts.
In 2001, Exclaim magazine wrote, “blueScreen ambitiously pours out some of the most beautiful atmospheric pop, like liquid silver. They combine crunchy guitars, ethereal vocals and all sorts of effects to create one great swirling mass of sound. Each song ebbs and flows in perfect rhythm, at some points evoking a sense of the world in slow motion.”
blueScreen's live show has gained notoriety for its musical intensity and gorgeous vocals. The band aims to gain momentum and increase its popularity as one of the best emerging atmospheric rock bands in
North America.

Press Reviews
"Blue is definitely a fantastic piece that will quickly become one of the songs you listen to every day." Losing Today"Composed of amorphous noise, their hazy compositions are fused so tightly in taut structures that the individual parts have fused, making the seams holding them together undetectable to your ears." Listen.com"Plenty of shimmering, reverberating guitars and dreamy ambience on this light and relaxed seven-song EP." eye weekly |
