Artist description
Arrangements of popular classics for symphonic orchestras a la pot-pourri onclassical themes, performed by the London Symphony orchestra with the use of percussionsand occasional changes of metre are not taken into account. In the ballet "Alice in Wonderland" A.Rosenblatt makes use of approximately 80themes from world classics, whimsically, unexpectedly, elegantly and yet most smoothlyblending together seemingly quite incompatible melodies and constructing new ones fromseveral old ones. In a word, amazing things are happening to the classic tunes, quite in linewith the subject-matter of L.Carrol. The hilarious, zany, half-mad characters of the bookare, in my opinion, most successfully rendered via transformed and exquisitely rearrangedclassics. The author's romantically beautiful, with an unmistakable sheen of Hollywood, musicconveys the essential genuine attitude of the composer as regards the only "live" character -Alice - and her relationship with Wonderland. The "Alice in Musicland" was performed successfully in France, South Korea, Austria, and Italy, and now is booked for worldwide tours for a year ahead. The success of our last project comes from the combination of talented music by Alexander Rosenblatt and prominent professional skills of world-class ice-skating stars such as Mrs. Bestemianova, Mr. Bukin, and Mr. Bobrin. |
