Artist description
Powershift plays music with a strong groove that mixes many styles. They play straight up Rock and Roll, extended psychedelic jams, country rock, reggae, and the blues. Drummer Chris Petro has been playing for more then ten years. He is influenced by John Fishman and Frank Zappa. PowerShift's bass player, Chris Kiren has been at it for 5 years. He grew up listening to Gene Simmons and KISS. Some of Kiren's other influences include Phil Lesh, Stanley Clarke, and Rob Wasserman. J.J. Hannum is one of the two guitarists in Powershift. His major influences are Jimi Hendrix and Stevev Vai. PowerShift's other guitarist is Ryan Pendleton. Ryan's influences include Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, and John Coltrane. |

PowerShift was formed in Rock Springs, Wy. in the fall of 1995. Powershift has a combined experience of over 20 years of performing music. This experience combined with the ability to crossover musical styles has been the foundationof over 150 performances. PowerShift has performed in various cities in the rocky mountain area including Ft. Collins, Co., Lararmie, Wy., Lander, Wy. and Salt Lake City, Ut. |
