Artist description
Fired up on the energy of punk and ska, JerKBanK fuels the crowd with fast, punchy, and melodic tunes that engrave a mark in your brain and make you leave saying
shit
that was tight. Singing about personal issues, JerKBanK touches base with life situations such as
united societies, freedom of choice, deadbeat relationships, and everyones favourite, substance abuse. Lead singer/guitarist, Steve Plum aka Eddi Risk, lays down the drilling guitar lines, followed by upbeat ska rhythms and vocals that make the crowd want to skank up a storm. Joey Proulx aka Joe Jiggler pounds his way into the hearts of the women, with his smooth ska beats that smartly pick up into a galloping punk frenzy. Brendan McGarvey aka Lay Z. Boy keeps it real with his sly and traditional walking bass lines, all together gearing the crowd toward the climax they need. |

Artist History
JerKBanK formed in 98 with core members Eddi and Jiggler meeting at the local adult video awards where Jiggler was accepting an award for best heterosexual scene with a midget. Eddi, already known in the scene, was widely favoured by the ladies for his skills as a tattoo artist and as an escort. It was during Jigglers acceptance speech that he noticed Eddi (a guitar player of 9 years) busking in the back as he was recently busted for solicitation. Jiggler (a drummer of 10 years) decided to meet with Eddi to discuss future soundtrack ideas for his films. And thus JerKBanK was born. The search for the bass player was on. After auditioning and playing with 4 different bassists, JerKBanK was disappointed to see that no one could keep up with the fiery wrist action required for their stage play, until the day Lay Z. made his appearance. After about 12 beers and 6 dances each at the local peeler, Eddi and Jiggler noticed a calm, smooth looking cat sitting in the corner of the club tweaking his nipples. This was the attitude that was needed to make JerKBanK complete. With no further delay they rushed over and asked him to play bass for their band. They were in luck as he was a seasoned musician of 6 years and had one of the craziest cases of wrist rage ever seen since Pee Wee Herman. |

Press Reviews
âIn your face punk with refreshing little doses of ska and some classic riffs. Somehow this trio know when to hold some punches and then let them go without it seeming predictable or unremarkable. "Slacker" sounds as if it could be the another rousing punk anthem yet the lyrics register a valid complaint with an unexpected twist. Instantly likable are clutch songs like "I Tried" and "DTW" though they draw comparisons to Operation Ivy. Now thatâs not a bad thing since recent expertise in this vein has been severely lacking. Could Jerkbank be leading the next ska-punk revival? Check âem out and find out for yourself. It obvious the band knows exactly what they are doing and this short release just leaves you wanting more.â

âBy fusing traditional ska rhythms and aggressive punk, this trio has come up with an energetic and irresistible sound. Perceptive and down-to-earth lyrics are another of their strengths.â

"Are Jerkbank just another fast aggressive punk band along the lines of Rancid? They are out to dig a deeper edge into your battle scars and break your eardrums a lot more than the others with their edgy brand of hard punk rock.
Jerkbank have been at it since 1998 with Steve on vocals and guitar, Joey on drums and Brendan on bass. The band is out to create a buzz with their infectious sounds that will have you wanting more. A very solid release on the bandâs debut release of 8 songs.
Fasten your seat belts, turn up the sound and enjoy the rush that Jerkbank is going to create in your veins as they deliver with ferocity you will be back again and again for!"

"Ska-punk from Canada. They play very tight and raw. I like it. The punk is much better than the ska, and their ska is more rocksteady-ish than ska. It almost reminds me of Common Rider (the ska stuff). The punk is much better I think, some of it really kicks ass."
