Artist History
Taking such influences as Nine Inch Nails, Stabbingwestward, Metallica, and various other groups,
DISMAL combines these different elements into a new sound all their own.
DISMAL was originally formed in 1994 by Matt Gatsos on keyboards and Jason
Morris on vocals, both from Antioch, California. Shane Hudson, from Illinois,
was recruited to play guitar. Although Hudson's addition to the band helped,
Dismal was still short two members, a drummer and bass player. Considering
to keep the bass on the keyboards a drummer seemed most important. In
April of 2000, Jeremia Draper agreed to join Dismal. On June 20, 2000
Matt Gatsos resigned from Dismal. Ryan Boggs a veteran bass player was
looking to further his music knowledge as a guitar player and in January
of 2001 Ryan joined Dismal and is now playing main guitar, replacing Shane
Hudson. Maria Platonova, backing Ryan with accompanying guitar riffs.
Owen, the newest member of the group, is now replacing Matt on keyboards.
Dismal is currently seeking a bass player to complete the line up. |
