Artist History
Dam@scus was conceived in a small dorm room; the vision of two young men playing acoustic guitars. With a folk-rock sound, Johnny and Eric were jamming just for fun. Long, late-night sessions spawned a number of edgy rock tunes. The vision of Dam@scus was born.Johnny and Eric soon added a two-piece rhythm section, with James on bass and Wade on the kit. The foursome played together a few times, and were pleasantly surprised at how easily their sound came together.Eric decided to quit lead guitar in the band he’d been playing for, and the Dam@scus dynamic continued to grow. Honest and powerful grooves ran for twenty and thirty minutes at first, driven by the band’s developing spirit. As the commitment of all four men increased, Wade also left his positions with two other bands. The first gig Dam@scus played was in a humble community Bingo hall, but the band was not thwarted. Throughout the show, Johnny's passionate vocals rode melodically on Eric's slashing guitar riffs. Layered with driving rhythm, the band started down the road to rock and roll. Those who heard were hooked. The music and lyrics sucked them into an inescapable vision. Every time Dam@scus played, the crowd seemed to grow, swept away by in an encounter with the Supernatural.Jason was one such person in the crowd. Taken with the sound and message of the music, he welcomed an opportunity to play with the band. One thing led to another, and the five-dimensional Dam@scus sound was completed. Jason’s presence created a more expansive sound, as he brought background vocals and spacious new-age melodies. His quick ear adapted seamlessly, complementing the ever more aggressive Dam@scus sound. P R O L O G U EOriginal songs have now reached new heights, and new songs continue to arrive. The road ahead for Dam@scus is as open and expansive as their epic songs. On the verge of millennium dawn, Dam@scus now looks eagerly to the future. |
