Artist History
If there ever was a band beset by paradox, ABERDEEN is it. In a world where fads and gimmicks are the norm, this band’s true allure comes from the life of their music. The content of the music is a constant struggle for a world free of bullshit. For a band that came from nothing, ABERDEEN has accomplished so much in the last few years. They have showcased their live sound at: The Lyon’s Den, NYC - CBGB’s, NYC, The Elbow Room, NYC, - Downtime, NYC, The Wrong Way Inn, Amityville, NY, Kenny’s Castaways, NYC - Sam Goody, New Brunswick, NJ., The Orange Bear, NYC- and the Lane Theater, Staten Island, NY. ABERDEEN built on their success by producing, releasing, and distributing their first CD on their independent label Rock the World Records. This self-titled disc has sold well over 500 units to friends and fans at their shows and through Amazon.com, CDNow, Best Buy and other online stores. From this accomplishment, ABERDEEN was able to further distribute their disc at local music stores including Street Sounds in Brooklyn NY, and Sam Goody in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The album has received a positive response from college radio stations in the 48 states that it has been sent to. Over 150 commercial and college radio stations have the disc and about half have been giving it medium rotation. Worldwide Radio (www.cosmicradio.com) and it's listeners have kept ABERDEEN in the TOP25 for over a year. With these results, the band went back into the studio this summer to record SUBURBAN; set to be released late this fall. Both albums will be sold on the internet through Orchard Distribution LLC, and through Worldwide Radio. At the dawn of a new millennium, the world needs a rock band who truly uses their music and diversity to break the barriers set forth by trendy record companies, magazines and MTV. It is for this reason, that this band will continue to record music and play live and distinguish themselves from a long list of rock bands...... |
