Artist History Lead by Guillermo Piccolini, former member of the Spanish Multi-Platinum band Los Toreros Muertos, and Pachuco Cadaver (a very interesting electronic rock duo that made it in Spain and Argentina from 1989 to 1993), and producer for Todos tus Muertos, El Otro Yo, and May Ray, amongst others. They started to play in the Buenos Aires underground scene and quickly gained a strong reputation as one of the best outfits to be heard in the city. After a year playing around, the band toured Patagonia and Uruguay, and then recorded the first single - MOISTURE - a rock/dance track that made a big splash with DJ's in the scene, gaining them radio recognition and airplay for the first time. Since then they have recorded their first album, originally released in Argentina, and more recently introduced to the Spanish market. The band's sound reveals a kaleidoscope of influences (B52's, Waits, Suicide, Chemical Brothers, Eno), however Piccolini's perspective is a dominant force being variously Singer, Guitarist, and Synthesizer player. Combined with this is the voluminous talent of Marina Olmi, providing amazing backing vocals and live performances, with the addition of crazy clothing designs that compliment perfectly Piccolini's style, songs, and vocals. ..if you only see one live band this year... make d**n sure it's this one. VENUS El grupo debutó en Noviembre de 1997 en el bar Podestá (Bs As , Argentina) El circuito porteño los tuvo como una suerte de sushi musical . Actualmente residen en Madrid (España) donde acaban de publicar (nov. 2002) su CD debut . Sus actuaciones basadas en las desopilantes performances de Marina Olmi , y en el raro cóctel de múisicas que propone Piccolini , pasan del cabaret dada a un rock que podría ser definido como punk progresivo con influencias de la new wave ( y también de la No wave ) dadaismo , olor a tecno ( basado en la larga trayectoria de Picco como sintetista , que incluye créditos tales como Pachuco Cadaver , Lions in Love , y los Toreros Muertos ) , y todo aderezado con una salsa de fuerte sabor psicodélico . El disco fue grabado por Piccolini en Piccophonics ( Bs As ) , y mezclado por Mario Breuer y Piccolini en el mismo estudio . El mástering lo realizó el mismo Mario en Sound Designer
