Artist History
Twelvehourmary is the nickname of an east coast girl whose boyfriend
used to drive 12 hours round-trip to demonstrate his affection. The band is
a solid fixture on the Long Beach scene consistently bringing a brand of
rock characterized as distorted but refined and loose-grooved but tight.
The songs swing from hard hitting to somber drifting with strong melody,
guitar interplay and intelligent lyrics filling out the sonic landscape.
Singer Brett Bixby started playing with drummer Mark Romans in high
school and along with guitar sniper Stuart Richardson, the group has played
together for over 7 years in clubs in Long Beach, Los Angeles and Orange
County. Recent addition Matt Jacovides on bass (Speaker) has brought the
group into new melodic territory and their musical relationship stems from
a friendship established when they created a collective warehouse in West
Long Beach used for rehearsal, production, art, film and showcasing.
Featured on numerous local compilations (Long Beach Subterranean,
The American Art Kitchen's 'PIE' & DopeAmerica Vol. 1) the bands' work has
also been highlighted in the soundtrack of the '98 indie film 'Cause'n'Defect'
with tracks from their self produced e.p. 'the mambo session' as well as
passages composed for the film. The group is currently recording album
tracks with veteran indie producer Rich Mouser who's production work and
mixing skills range from Weezer to Corrosion of Conformity to Oleander.
Twelvehourmary is currently unsigned and interested in working with
others who have a mutual interest in rock music that draws inspiration
from the past while firmly rooted in the present. |
