Artist History The Return is a power trio that began in 1986 but the history of guitarist Mike and drummer Gary begins in 1967 when they started their first band The SoudWave. Bass player Dave Copley joined them in 1980 with their band Menlo Park. (see Below). Since '86 THE RETURN have been a mainstay in their local music scene. All three of the guys write music and have been recording their songs for years. The e.p. "It's About Time" was recorded in their new digital studio. They have recently been seen opening up for Blessed Union of Souls and Richard Marx along with such classic Rock stars as Little River Band, The Box Tops, Loverboy, B.T.O., 38 Special, Steppinwolf, Kansas, Jefferson Starship, War, Dream House, The Drifters and The Vogues.***** Before The Return, in the summer of 1979, four tried and true musicians assembled at a secret location to begin the process of developing twenty-five years of popular music into one unique style. So began the legend of the band, MENLO PARK. Over the next four years the band wrote and recorded 28 songs. Each trip to the recording studio produced a new musical experience. And then suddenly it was over. This four piece original powerhouse had come apart just at the verge of bigger things. But the music lives on like good music always does so here for the first time ever are some of those recordings from the bands' most productive time. Included is their first single on Wrong Planet Records "Wrong Side Of A Gun" with "My Heart" on the flip side. Also here is the award winning "Run and Run." Today, three of the guys from MENLO PARK are together as the band, The Return.
