Press Reviews
You can always look forward to an over the top performance from The Orfans, so on their new album Songs For Sale, expect nothing less than an energized set of bustling originals. Album gems include "Half My life", "Daddies Little Girl" and "Last A Day". A ripping good exhibition from one of Boston's favorites.--Douglas Sloan, August, 1999 Metronome Magazine-- Real rock and roll never goes out of style and The Orfans keep it very much alive and kickin' in Songs For Sale. They let loose with that sweaty energy generated from dirty (but not sloppy) rock. You know, the kind that expresses emotion with urgency, rootsy soul and gutsy style. The Orfans continue in the tradition of this straightforward rock music maintaining a current edge with boundless passion, tight musicianship and solid songs. Overall all an excellent CD.--Debbie Catalano, September 1999 Boston SoundCheck Magazine"-- Daddies Little Girl" and "Country Joe"pull through with surprising success,,, and show that The Orfans do have potential.--Rev. Kieth Harris, November 1999 Northeast Performer-- Edgy, orignal rock with a heap of finesse bring The Orfans to the forefront on "Pennies for the Preacher", the first cut on Songs For Sale. A Malden MA based trio, The Orfans have a big diverse sound with lots of standout cuts an this excellent CD. Picks are: Giant, Daddies little Girl, Sometimes, Guilty and Had Enough. Definitely worth a listen!--Miss Billy Dare, December 1999 Musicians Trade Journal |
