Artist description Stephanie works mainly in oil and graphite on various wood surfaces, but has also worked in gauche and print media. She also enjoys working on very large surfaces and has recently found figurative murals to be very liberating."I am continually working out spatial problems, finding various ways to create a believable and interesting space. When I decide to place a figure somewhere in a piece, I don't want it to be the main focus or seen as an afterthought. I have discovered that my most fully integrated spaces come after many layers of drawing figures or other objects, pulling out lights and darks, and then more layers. Then I begin to add color."

Artist History Stephanie Campbell was born in Aldan, Pennsylvania, in1978. She attended Penn Wood High school in Lansdowne, Pa. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, Pa, and is a senior with a concentration on figure painting.
