Artist History Magic Hat was formed in State College, PA. Chris O'Brien, Matt Jacquette, and Matt Davey, all friends from high school, moved there in 1994 where they met bass player Mike Smith. They decided they would form a band, even though some members were first picking up their instruments. As time went on, they began getting better and playing bigger venues. Now, based in Philly, they have recorded a CD and play many venues around the Philadelphia area.
