Artist History
Born in 1964 in Turin, from the age of ten, Paolo Volante began his study of piano with M. Schiaparelli and later furthered his studies in jazz piano with Palmino Pia and Aldo Rindone. In 1984 he worked at the Conservatorio di Torino, "Giuseppe Verdi", in the domain of computer-based music when this art/techonology was at its beginnings. In 1989 he started his activity as pianist, performing at hundreds of concerts in Italy, France and Japan. In 1996, he co-founded, with the poetess Patrizia Brai, la Citta' del Jazz, a company now well-known as a leading producer of jazz concerts and musicals in Italy. A pop, jazz and classical composer, in 2002 Paolo Volante composed "Frammenti in Poesia", originally conceived as a background music for the poems of Patrizia Brai contained in the award winning book "Cammino - The Journey". Frammenti in Poesia comprises a set of 26 "Fragments", each of which is devoted to a single poem. To enjoy the poems with Paolo Volante's music, visit the site: www.mp3.com/pbrai. |
