Artist description KRACKATOA - A dark trance / fusion outfit hailing from Auckland's North Shore combining traditional music techniques with modern ones combined in strong melodies and rhythms. Influences are varied and wander all directions within the Electronica spectrum: Jean Michel Jarre, Herbie Hancock, Apollo 440, Green Nuns of the Revolution, Jean Sibelius and Satie. They have been releasing tracks regularly since 1998 and in that time, built up their own unique ambient sound. So far Krackatoa have released two self produced albums, "Komodo Dodo" in 1999 and "Monkies In the Temple" in 2001 as well as tracks produced for the internet via Mp3.com .
