Artist description
John Walrus is a 4-piece rock outfit originating from the Ottawa area. The boys have been together in some form or another since 1993, when they were but naïve young ingenues; they are now poised, confident, and rock-ready performers. Their record—Counted Downtime—was recorded in early-1999 by the infamous Dave Draves at his Little Bullhorn Studios in the heart of Ottawa’s Chinatown; the oriental flavour that pervaded the recording sessions is palpable on the album, and the songs offer an appealing glimpse of the Walrus’ earth-shattering fury. Since relocating to Montreal in the fall of 1999, the "rock n’ roll machine," as they are known by some, has been hard at work composing a new slew of tunes that are considerably more occidental in flavour.
