Press Reviews
"a young but already accomplished singer-songwriter, Ian fits just as well in the heavy-metal scene (where he got his start) as he does in folkie venues where I first saw him in performance. His music (especially his more recent efforts) is grounded in a strong spiritual foundation and is a pleasure to hear." - Kris McLonis, Aurora Borealis Productions
***
"In contrast to the current music scene, Ian Keith Hafner gives free vent to his musical fantasies in the shape of Holy Riot: look for a middle road between Kiss, Lovemaker, and Psycho Gypsy with a sound that recalls the influences of the glam rock of the 70s and the classic L.A. metal of the 80s. It starts with the song "Sinner," performed by Ian Keith Hafner and bassist Robby Scott, "stolen" from the repertoire of Stanley and Simmons, and proceeds with "Sweet Lady Lust," akin to the Bon Jovi of the mid-eighties. "Fiery Zoo" is glam metal similar to that presented by Mother Mercy, Ambush, or Suicide Alley, but to tell the truth, we prefer versions like the final "Holy Riot," an authentic party rock song from other times!" - Slam! Magazine
