Artist description
A veteran lyricist who has made stunning contributions as a member of TRU, C-Murder was among the artists who propelled Master P’s No Limit Records to national prominence. His menacing raps and street-level insight also have made him a flagship No Limit artist. He enjoyed critical success with his debut solo album “Life or Death.” His latest solo effort, “Bossalinie,” speaks to the many nuances of a life full of struggle with his some of his most poignant songs to date. “I don’t like to call what I do rap. I like to call it expressing myself…I try to keep my emotions high on a record. I’m basically trying to make people feel exactly what I’m saying.”C-Murder also has built a burgeoning career as an actor and label head. He has appeared in the No Limit films “I’m Bout It” and “Da Game of Life.” He is a key player in the upcoming No Limit release “Hot Boyz,” which also stars Silkk the Shocker, Snoop Dogg and Mystikal. C-Murder’s TRU Records, distributed through No Limit, has started to make some noise of its own. With the release in 1998 of Magic’s “Sky’s the Limit,” TRU Records scored a gold-selling underground smash. Look for other releases from TRU Records’ Magic’s second album, “Thuggin’ ” and the group Tank Doggs. C-Murder has become one of the most reliable stars in Master P’s stable. |
