We have our own sound, sort of a combination of east and west coast with everything in between. Traditional hip-hop meets straight thug mentality gangster rap in the worst way. Artist History Gaiterman, formerly Eric Gee, started making beats about five years ago. It was more or less a hobby. After about two years of making beats, putting them on tape, and just riding around bumping them in the cranberry Blazer, he got tired of just making beats. The next step was to start writing lyrics and purchase a 4-track recorder. After doing this for about a year Gaiterman ended up meeting Roc, who had been rhyming for about 6-8 years. The duo hooked up and formed the Sykk Syde Mafia. After making one tape together, other rappers in the East Hills section of Pittsburgh quickly got wind of the beats and rhymes of the Sykk Syde, they almost immediately wanted to be down. After no hesitation, Gaiterman very swiftly added them to the Sykk Syde.
