Artist History
I have been playing music for as long as I can remember. My primary instrument is the drums. I am a singer and songwriter, and do most of my writing on the guitar. I was a former member of the Burt Neilson Band for two years. Together we released an independent album recorded in Thunder Bay Ontario in 1997. We toured the Canadian circuit from west to east. I later left the band to pursue personal endeavors and to finish school. During this time I joined old friends Steven Fogel and Jack Breakfast, two well-known Toronto based musicians. I appeared on Steven Fogel’s album playing a number of songs. This was a highly influential and educational experience. Steve and Jack Breakfast helped me define my musical style and encouraged me to pursue my solo project. Together we started two bands, and played many Toronto based shows. I later recorded a live album with Steve Fogel, Jack Breakfast, and Jay Elliot called “Live One Day”. At this point Steve moved to New York and I continued working closely with Jack Breakfast. In the middle of the 1999 summer I began recording my debut album in my basement with friend and producer Amos Carlen. I worked intensely for a month gathering friends and musicians to record with. This included current Burt Neilson members and many other close friends. I went back to school in September 1999. If you are interested in getting some of Jack Breakfasts or Steve Fogels albums you can find them at www.jackbreakfast.com or you can reach Steve at StevenFogel@hotmail.com. Press Reviews
The showstopper, however, came from an unnamed psychedelic band whose members included former “ filling Station” and “Burt Neilson Band” musicians. The overwhelming wall of sound that they kicked out attacked yr mind and forced yr ass out of yr seat. Kids were drawn to the dance floor like flies to an electric zapper.By: Rob, L.Lakehead University |
