Artist History
JUNIPER DAILY is the home of four musical orphans, all in search of the right family. Formed in Vancouver in 1996, the independent band matured with suprising efficiency. "Modern Guitar Pop," yes, but with darker textures and swirly, dischordant overtones fighting for control.
JUNIPER DAILY's members hail from the great expanses of Ontario; Toronto's Paul Snepsts, Ottawa's Johnny Martin, Sault Ste. Marie's Ryan Gasse, and finally, from Thunder Bay, Mike Odjala.
Initially spawned by the pop sensibilities of Paul and Johnny, Juniper Daily has incubated and become a mutant-melodic, unique soundscape with the addition of Mike and Ryan. The accomplishments of JUNIPER DAILY have stakced up impressively, and in short order. Performances in Vancouver's finest live venues were capped by an Ontario tour supporting their first full-length effort, "Stride."
The 10 song debut was produced by VINCENT JONES. Known chiefly for his work with Grapes of Wrath and Sarach McLauchlin, Vince has produced Disks for Mystery Machine, Taste of Joy, and Bruce McCullough. "Stride," garnished praises from the likes of CBC's Nitelines (now Radio Sonic) Host David Wisdom, and CFOX radio personalities David Hawkes and Tom Harrison to name a few. It was on the debut's strength that the group appeared in the 1997 MUSIC WEST Festival, and landed a television spot for CBC TV's Terminal City, hosted by pop/jazz diva, Holly Cole.
In 1998, JUNIPER DAILY made the move to Ontario. The addition of a new ryhthm section brings to life the band's second incarnation. And with the new material incubating and evolving, JUNIPER DAILY'S upcoming Sophomore release promises to make waves in the Canadian Music Scene.

"Freshly scrubbed, catchy as a stickleback, yet leavened with the spume of discontent. Well worth a listen."
David Wisdom, Nightlines CBC Stereo

"a different kind of smoothness, each song sounding really big and almost holy in execution I like it, and you should too."
Discorder Magazine

"Stride is the kind of CD I like - catchy songs you remember after only a few listens. The songs are strong, well played, and come across the same live."
Chris Hooper, Ginger/Grapes of Wrath

"If you're talking tens of millions of salmon - it's devastating."
B.C.
