    Artist History
After three years of working hard and gigging around the U.K. Furthur have developed a sound which is truly their own. The press, although struggling hard to put a label on it, have always been positive, “Blues – but not blues, a rocky guitar but not rock; an independent sound but not indie; a catchy, melodic sound that takes you… Furthur” (Riffs). “Stoned blues alternated with energetic, uplifting rock and soul music”(Get Rhythm). Drawing from a wide range of influences (the ‘beat’ writers of the 50’s, the pioneers of late 60’s psychedelia, right through to present day bands) Furthur have produced a mix of sound that is very much in the ‘now’. Recent highlights include:- the success of club nights (‘The Panhandle’ and ‘The Young Fools’ Renaissance’) which had Furthur as resident band, backed by the mind blowing Kif Jilala light show and also guest bands and D.J.s from around the U.K., as well support slots with Mansun and Gay Dad. Artwork for Furthur gigs and the club nights have become highly sought after and posters have regularly disappeared within an hour of being put out. The band saw their Sound City gig completely sell out and earlier in that week appeared onstage with Steve Lamacq as his ‘Fantasy Record Label’ band. Furthur were lucky enough to meet up with Ken Kesey and Ken Babbs (of ‘Merry Prankster’ fame) on more than one occasion over the last two years. They have received airplay and positive feedback from America, New Zealand and Europe following the promo C.D. put out by the band. Recently, the band have been back in the recording studio demoing new material and are becoming increasingly interested in the internet, currently receiving in excess of 1000 downloads every month – and, as always out and about, playing live.
