Artist History Founded in 1995, the band has released one demo entitled "Tranquil Sorrows", and aMCD entitled "Shadowmoon". Divine Silence has always been noted for creating dark, chilling and emotional music both live and recorded. In March of this past year they were one of the bands enlisted on the New Jersey March Metal Meltdown along with other acts such as Sepultura, Dimmu Borgir, Spineshank, Biohazard etc. Terrorizer Magazine (The Heavy Metal fans European Digest), who attended this event, heralded the bands live performance with this remark from the June-1999 Issue "...I had the chance to watch some of the better local and unsigned talent, specifically Divine Silence. Their doomy and gothic-tinged songs were reminiscent of old Anathema and even vintage Paradise Lost... ”. This year they were also featured on a Alabaster Records compilation which when was reviewed by Metal Maniacs (The Heavy Metal fans American Digest), was regarded as such; "Divine Silence speaks up as the disk's sore thumb, standing out of the fray with its Paradise Lost/Katatonia-schooled gothic leanings. Still, despite its sonic left field pitch amongst the disk's peers, "Shadowmoon" involves one within an epic atmosphere of joyous desperation.". In their history they have fit the bill with such bands as My Dying Bride, The Gathering, Amorphis, Dark Funeral, Boiler Room and many national and international acts. In February 1999 they are scheduled to release their Debut album entitled "Promise You" and tour in support of it. They are currently seeking a record label that will truly back their efforts and will remain under independent support until they find. Divine Silence invites you to sample the atmosphere that only they can create... in Shadowmoon.
