Artist History The message is clear, "You're gonna hear me!" So says Corey James McKeever, leader of the modern rock band "Truthisnow". As leader, singer and main songwriter of the band, Corey is ready to take his music into the new millennium. The sound of Truthisnow spans the decades of rock, taking the 1960's honesty, the 1970's power, the 1980's spirit, and the 1990's alternative to create a unique sonic blend. Corey, much like REM's lead singer Michael Stipe, imbues his singing with his own brand of emotion. Whether pouring his soul into an emotional climatic ending or delicately melding a verse with the bridge, Corey is always putting his unique stamp on the music. After growing up in Anaheim, California, in the heart of Orange County, Corey picked up a guitar and immediately began to write songs. Corey, now 28, says, "My goal has always been to write the best songs possible, I was never happy to write mediocre songs, I wanted to write songs that people would never forget!" So, to that end, Corey joined some local garage bands, most of which were content to stay in the garage. Disillusioned with this lack of vision, Corey decided to create his own band, and thus Truthisnow was born. With the message of the band name firmly in mind, Corey and his new band mates plunged into the recording studio. Soon a CD was born, one titled "Your Gonna Hear Me", after the song of the same name. The first track, the haunting surefire radio hit, "So Alive", sets the pace for the rest to follow. "So Alive", describes how it feels to be abandoned by your lover, while "Change In The Weather", another guaranteed hit, will become an anthem of change for a new generation. Using it's urgent message, the melody to "Stop The Slow Dancin'" can, and will, stay with you for weeks to come. Then "Say A Prayer" gently announces life's loneliness, but suddenly blasts off into an unforgettable chorus. The final cut, "Your Gonna Hear Me", is an evocation to listen to, not only Corey, but to the world that surrounds you.Seeing Truthisnow live is an emotionally gut wrenching experience, as Corey and his band exorcise the demons within each audience member. The live set includes, not only the songs from the CD, but the acoustic ballads "Images" and "Sun Won't Shine", the charged hit "He's Hungry", the audience favorite "Wedding Ring", along with many of their other live staples, all of which are planned for inclusion on a future CD. Always true to their vision and eager for the challenges to come, Corey and Truthisnow are ready to make their music heard. With their music containing so much passion, emotion, and yes, truth, you will hear him and the message will be clear.
