    Artist description
**************************************************************** This Boston-based five piece band plays retro-alternative hard rock and has performed over 700 shows since forming in February 1995. Highlights include appearances at the 1998 NEMO Music Showcase, Localpalooza 1996, Pedro’s Mountain Bike Festival (w/ Throwing Muses), live radio shows, The Drunken Barn Dance, and multiple dates at local BOSTON clubs such as AXIS, Bill’s Bar, Mama Kin, TT the Bears, and The Middle East. **************************************************************** With two releases under their belt - "The Vic Morrows" (1997) and "Live at the Rat" (1998)- The Vics are scheduled to release "Moroccan Roll" shortly before the new year. Their debut CD "The Vic Morrows" received critical acclaim and solid airplay on WBCN, WFNX, WAAF, and many college stations throughout East Coast. "Live at the Rat" accurately captures the bands’ frenzied live show. However, ‘Moroccan Roll’ promises to be their most profound and versatile work to date. In a world where real rock is a rare find, we give you The Vic Morrows. ****************************************************************

    Artist History
The band was formed in 1995. Early material was more pop rock oriented. However, the band's newest material has been described as having "... a unique twin guitar interplay ... a stylistic percussive attack ... dual lead vocals that jump from rough to refined in a nanosecond... Press Reviews
**************************************************************** The University Reporter: The Vic Morrows by Erik R. Stetson...This band is full of personality, and even better live than recorded. These guys are comfortable and spontaneous live. They are anything but wet behind the ears...The all-out-bang-it-hard type tune is their forte....Any originality comes spontaneously from the natural charisma of the group, and they feed well off each other... They pay alot of homage to punk rock... There is some picking, bass and vocals reminiscent of Midnight Oil with some ealy Cure recall....They play in Portland, Worcester, Providence, Portsmouth, and Kittery, with Boston topping the list. The Vics are excellent entertainers. They've adopted the strategy most likely to succeed for them, doing as many gigs as they can, all over New England, from beaches to Mama Kin's. **************************************************************** The Noise: The Vic Morrows by Lianna Ness --- On the Vic Morrows 1995 ...In 1991, Chris met vocalist/guitarist Dave Mangione playing an acoustic set at a coffee shop. They teamed up and began playing open mic nights but it wasn't until 1994, when they replaced their old rhythm section with bassist Randy Hopkins and drummer Cliff Goodman, that their signature brand of "hipster garage rock" really started to take form. Their 1995 single "Cold/No Kind of Fun," as well as a self titled 4-song demo, have received accolades from numerous local publications and heavy airplay on local radio shows. They were chosen semi-finalists in the 1996 Musician Magazine Best Unsigned Band Competition. The nasty phone call and possible lawsuit from actress Jennifer Jason-Leigh has already garnered them even more attention. (Liegh is the daughter of actor Vic Morrow, who was decapitated on the set of the Twilight Zone movie; however the band says their name is not meant as a slight of joke and that they are big fans of the actor). But their music is even catchier than their name. Calling it "post-neon surf punk" would be selling it short. With a unique twin guitar interplay that ranges from angular, precisely picked chords to distorted experimental squeals punctuated with brassy bass belching, a stylistic percussive attack and dual lead vocals that jump from rough to refined in a nanosecond, the Vics (as their fans call them) are no fly-by-night gimmick. Fine-tuned but fun, their live shows are always hard-jamming, rocking good time...
