Artist History
Mick Brett, (bass & vocals), Alan Bunclarke,(Drums) and Andy Young, (guitar & vocals) were all in Winston & The Churchills. Mick & Alan have worked together for over 30 years and have had the priveledge of working with such greats as Jeff Beck on one occasion and Henry McCullough (Wings) on another. The list of musicians assosiated with Mick, Alan & Andy is endless! After Mick decided to move to a Scottish Island, Andy & Mick lost contact for 10 years with the sad demise of this great songwriting partnership. Sadly for Mick & Alan, this new period of Winston & The Churchills signalled some success with a signing to "Coldharbour Records" at that great British studio, "The Workhouse" in The Old Kent Road, London. Ten Years later, Andy decided to make a musical statement having spent this time bringing up a family and the rest has been an amazing journey of digging out old friends who are now involved with such acts as Oasis and many many others. By far the best discovery was that of Steve Ash Vie (notorious Canterbury engineer and best friend of the Churchills)living in Japan! They have paid their dues over and over, have moved into the 21st century with a vengence and are now ready to take on the world! This great partnership has been made much greater with the addition of Richard Harrison (sax) from S. Africa and Phil Martin (keys) whose huge talents make this band complete. It has been a long journey with some tragedies on the way, but at last, the hard work looks set to pay off. As a postscript to this, we have now been joined by top sax player, Mike Parlett (www.parlett.net). Mike has recording credts with Mica Paris, Take That! Simply Red, Geno Washington and Iona to name a few! Mike has more energy than a herd of raging Buffalo and is a pile of fun to be around. Check out his site NOW! As an interesting end to this story, Andy is now one of the team of guys supplying the "Motherload" speaker emulator! (www.motherload.co.uk) Recent purchasers of the Motherload include, Joe Satriani, U2, Steve Vai, Carl Verheyen, Nik Kershaw with many other top names following. If you would like a demo, mail us......it's the mother of all equipment! |
