Artist description
Robert Farrell, once described by Billboard Magazine as "arguably the greatest undiscovered guitarist in Canada" is shedding the unknown label fast.
Now with two 2002 New Artist Radio (N.A.R.) Awards for "Musician of the Year" and"Male Rock Artist of the Year", Robert is making his presence felt with fans throughout North America and the rest of the world.
Since sneaking behind the family sofa to play his Dad's guitar at age six, Robert has emerged as an artist to be reckoned with. In the last five years, Robert has produced three albums: Freedom For My Soul (1996), When the Banks of the Mississippi Run Dry (1997) and Robert Farrell Express (2000). Selected tracks from all three CDs have received extensive local radio play and national mention - not insignificant for an Indie artist.
Hug Me Squeeze Me, another cut from Express, has hit #1 on the mp3.com blues rock chart twice totalling 5 weeks at the top spot; the track has been as high as 23 on the World Top 40 mp3.com chart in the company of such artists as Madonna and R.E.M. This is what over 100,000 fan downloads have done for Robert Farrell.
Those same fans have this to say about Robert: "...heir to the guitar guru throne...MAN YOU SMOKE ON THAT AXE...Competition for Clapton."
Debuting his custom double neck guitar has given Robert an even greater musical distinction: fans get to see him play his unique double slide and lead guitar simultaneously. Robert is currently finishing up his fourth album SUN HOUSE FURY and in May, debuted his advance single, "Joelee", which is already getting air play. Watch for the upcoming live performances; you will not believe what your eyes are seeing...
As ProCritic Radio puts it..."A genetically engineered guitarist for the 21st century, equal parts Ted Nugent and Gary Moore. |
