    Artist History
1989: Steve signs up with the then CBS (now Sony). Did a few backing vocals, but no record contract.Summer 1993: Steve meets Graeme Hughes (aka Harry Heedle) on holidays in Kos, Greece. A few months later he invites him for what was meant as a fun day at the Depot Studios, Coventry.February 1994: Jaqvaar (then called "Jaguar") and Heedle record 10 songs in a couple of hours at the Depot. The sound technician, former "King" member (with top hits in the UK) Mike Roberts agrees to play the keyboard on one of the tunes.April 1994: "US Bastards Of EUrope" (including only 5 of the 10 songs recorded in February) comes out at the FEJS meeting in Prague (in vinyl). The first 200 copies are sold within hours and Steve drives back to the factory for a reprint.May 1994: with the next 800 copies running out fast, Steve decides to make a CD with all 10 songs, and contacts "Implant Records", a new Coventry-based label that normally did dance/ambient music, but was looking for a more acoustic "quality" turn.December 1994: After 7 months of what was meant to be a one-week project, the pre-release version of "Sent To Coventry" is presented at the 1994 FEJS P-Meeting in Dortmund. The final version includes 3 songs by Eammon Harvey, an Irish folk musician, 3 by "Twelve Angry Men", a Coventry-based hard rock band, 1 guest appearance by "The Pop Tarts", a succesful soul band, and Implant's demo of techno tracks from their next compilation album. This causes the CD to become quite expensive (since there were already 10 Steve Jaqvaar tracks on it) and too diverse, but it still does relatively well.March 1995: with the full version of "Sent To Coventry" climbing up the charts, Steve releases his own -limited edition- version of "A Farewell To Prams", dedicated to the 10th FEJS Aniversary in Ankara. It includes a personal "best of" collection and some previously unreleased material by Steve and his new band, "No Connection Necessary".September 1995: Steve starts his own production company, "Bohaliland Blues". The first album (and only release so far) is Stevie Jeremiah's "Mistakes And All", recorded live at what was then "Helena's House" on Kos island. Steve Jaqvaar later started working at the venue and even ran it for a while, when the radio station he worked for bought it (1998).Since June 1995, Steve has been trying to record and produce his fourth album, "Not The Boy From Madagascar". Three efforts to do so have failed so far, but he is telling us it might be ready by March 2000. A good sign is that since October 1999, he has at least started gigging again.Summer 2000: Now living in Germany, Steve toured with an Irish Pub called "Tir Na N'Og" throughout the summer, making many appearances in various festivals in Saxony. The shows went better than expected, and is back in shape!
