**FEATURED ON VH1'S EMMY-NOMINATED "BANDS ON THE RUN"** According to fans and many people in the industry, the JDB is the best new funk-rock band in New York City. Their new album, "Get Up", reflects the sound which sets the Josh Dodes Band apart from the rest -- the timeless combination of piano-based funk with a flawless rhythm section and tight vocal harmonies. The band has quickly become well-known for all of its members' top-notch musicianship, their tight musical and personal interaction, and the amazing energy of their live shows. As a full unit, the Josh Dodes Band is one of the most exciting and musical bands to come onto the New York music scene in ages. |

Artist History
Funk pianist/songwriter Josh Dodes formed the Josh Dodes Band in 1998 after two years of increasingly successful solo shows -- with the addition of several top-notch players to the mix, the band has been building its fan base throughout the Northeast at an exponential rate ever since. The band regularly sells out the legendary Bitter End and prestigious Mercury Lounge in New York City, and also plays regularly in Boston (their newest and fastest-growing market), New Haven (where they have opened for Indigo Girls), Philadelphia (where they have gotten radio play on local favorite WXPN), and Washington, DC (where, in addition to club dates, they have played the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage and 1999's annual Kennedy Center Open House). The band is currently in the process of shopping for a major-label record deal. |

Press Reviews
"Working his piano stool like a pogo stick, Dodes played so hard the veins on his shaved head nearly popped. Ben Folds Five could never swing this hard.... Now that's rock'n'roll." -- The Village Voice "...the breakout potential that has started to draw major and minor labels; all smell money behind this band's hot, joyous performance. The band has become so popular that a larger setting is required as they were turning people away at the last Bitter End bookings. A great band." -- Greenwich Village Gazette, NYC |
