Press Reviews
Loose, sprawled-out songs with plenty of room for,uh, jamming. This Ill. sextet touches on reggae, Funk, and even Smooth Jazz, all under the forgiving umbrella of Jam Rock. JamNation has it all. Simmering funk tunes, high energy percussive grooves, and a natural ability to bring the house down wherever they perform. Sax man Moss has all the chops and a delivery that rivals the likes of Grover Washington and Maceo Parker. Jack Brighton's guitar playing sounds like Scofield and Santana's Love Child. Bassist and vocalist, Stolte has got the funk and is ready to tell the world about it. Powerhouse drummer, Kenny Reiss, lays it down strong and tight. Rounding out the sextet are Brian McElwain on guitar and David Tcheng on horns and keys. These two complete the stellar lineup that calls itself JamNation. You can always count on improvising and extended jamming at a JamNation show. ***** Highly recommended. These "guys have sentenced their souls to eternal JamNation"...and reminded me of the legendary War and Eric Burdon a little. Producing Real Groove and flirting with Psychedelic-Oriental riffs, being Funkiologically Correct + expressing influences from Reggae to Fusion the Guys help you enjoy that extra drink and dive into oblivion. |
