Artist History Ivar Arnt Nilsen who died of cancer in September 1998 at an age of 57 started playing guitar at dances during the fifties.He then joined the Musical Conservatory in Oslo where he studied classical guitar. He then spent some time in Madrid, Spain where he took lessons in flamenco guitar. Ivar really never started on a professional career, but had the guitar as a hobby among many others. His main effort and contribution here are all the arrangements for classical guitar he left behind. He was seldom satisfied with the existing transcriptions and went back to the orginal scores and wrote his own arrangements. On this CD you will hear some of them. When he was diagnosed with cancer back in 1996 he decided to record some of his most beloved music, and with the support of family and friends he recorded this CD in a small studio in Oslo a year before he died.
