    Artist History
Gene Hood is a consummate artist. A talented musician, songwriter and singer, Gene possesses the gift of communicating deep emotion, while still capturing the ear with beautiful melodies. Gene has been a professional entertainer and songwriter for over twenty years, travelling across the country with a musical message that thousands have lovingly embraced. With songs that speak directly to the soul, he has captured the hearts and minds of the many people that consider his self-made releases the centerpiece of their music collections. With his third release, "Miracle", Gene has managed to put an eleven-year span of his music into one masterful collection. He has poured a lifetime of experience and passion into music that will strike a common chord in the heart of every listener. The album should be listened to in its entirety to fully appreciate the depth and versatility of this man's creation. In these days of musical anonymity, where it is hard to tell one artist from another, this music is a breath of fresh air.

    Press Reviews
From the Alibi, ABQ. NM Over the past few years Gene Hood has become something of a local phenomenon. The throngs of people chanting Hood's name during sets at Albuquerque's Golden West Saloon is now stuff of legend. Hood satisfies that hidden lust present in each of us for familiar music of decades past while offering a cache of music that is as hook-laden and engaging. Granted, "Miracle" has its sappy moments, but Hood has a formidable talent for making romanticism easily digestible and even pleasant--a feat that isn't as easy to pull off as it sounds. His original music is as soaring and grandiose as any of the expertly executed covers that dominate his live sets. On "Miracle" Hood is at his lyrical best when he delves most deeply into his own persona. Hood's trademark 12-string acoustic guitar is the driving force behind the 15 tracks on this, his third release, with guest appearances by long time partner Richard McCann (keyboards), occasional sideman Skip Pascoe (electric guitar) and several others. His chameleon voice (Hood has the ability to clone the distinct sound of everyone from James Taylor to Elton John), coupled with strong songwriting and solid performances make "Miracle" another welcome addition to your collection of local releases.
